About the Archives

The Clerk's Department of the Town of Oakville is responsible for the retention and preservation of Town records and ensures that this is done in a secure and accessible manner.  Archival government records, such as Council Minutes and By-laws of the former Trafalgar Township, the Village of Bronte and the Town of Oakville and various photographs have been archived in an effort to preserve the historical heritage of these areas which are now known as the Town of Oakville.

You may explore the archival collection maintained by the Town by searching our on-line inventory.

The Town of Oakville also operates the Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate where the objective is to preserve and interpret the Town's history through the heritage and home of Oakville's founding family, the Chisholms.
